The seasons of life (2002)

Using nature’s cycle as a metaphor to reflect the school cycle, the mural depicts the evolution of a tree through four seasons, reflecting; movement, change, growth and continuity. The artist screenprinted a photograph of a tree onto tile, around which she translated onto clay, drawings created by the students, juxtaposed with some of her own sketches.

A collaborative art project with the 3rd grade students of PS6. Commissioned through the ‘sites for students’ programme of the NYC Department of Education and the NYC School Construction Authority.
